Crafted Gambit Goods is a leatherworking company based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. With focus on crafting premium leather goods, every handmade item is made with uncompromised quality.
Owned and operated by myself, the company was started on a kitchen table and a handful of YouTube videos at the beginning of 2022. My life two years prior was "all gas, no breaks": I had traded my life as a professional dancer for a desk job, we had our first son, bought our first home, and we were on the cusp of a global pandemic. Life was hitting hard and fast, and I wasn't keeping up. I happened to stumble on leathercraft while looking for a pair of new leather boots and went down a rabbit hole of the art of leatherworking. Today, leatherworking helps me refocus and slow down, to bring back a part of my life that I thought I had lost. THE DESIGN
The design inspiration is taken from the gambits of chess and the practices of Kaizen; the idea of constant improvement. Refinement, removing the unnecessary, and finding the balance between form and functionality. These are the core design philosophies that go into the making of each leather good.

THE PROCESSAll CGG leather goods are designed and handmade by myself. Each item is put together using full grain Italian leather and hand stitched using a saddle stitch. Finally, the edges are hand sanded and burnished to a mirror finish in order to seal the edges. Over time, the leather will age and patina beautifully with every occasion, event, and lifestyle it is a part of.
